Jag tror att man inte ska försöka strypa debatten. Vi har i Sverige standardiserat länge: Det ska vara 2400 mm till taket inomhus, osv, så mår alla bra, har man menat. Lite grann samma sätt att tänka har vi i debatten; vissa åsikter ska inte få komma till tals utan de ska finnas en standard. Idén är att vi får en slags "svensk standard" i hur och framför allt vad man debatterar, på ett sådant sätt att extremistiska och destruktiva tankesätt inte ventileras och på så sätt får luft under vingarna.

Men det är inte liberalt att göra på det sättet. Lika lätt kan man ju säga att om man inte får en öppen debatt så kan mindre lyckade resonemang få mer luft under vingarna:

• dels de som undertrycks och växer sig starka i människor
• dels de som får utrymme men blir svaga och bräckliga när de inte skärps i intellektuell debatt och senare vid prövningens stund faller som korthus

Dessutom bör man rent fundamentalt inte ha rätt att hindra människor från att uttrycka sig. Det finns såklart gränser, som går vid företeelser som förtal och hot, vilket iofs också är Sundins poäng att testa med anmälan.

Dessutom har Internet punkterat åsiktsmonopolen, först med bloggar och nu med Joost och Democracy Player.

Minst tre av de sju barnen från Tornbergsskolan i Norsborg som testades för tuberkulos i förra veckan på Huddinge sjukhus bär på smittan.

Men media i Sverige är alerta och kan inte skyllas för att sopa frågan under mattan:"Tuberkulos kan bli lika dödlig i Sverige som i tredje världen"

Allvarligaste problemet är att vi inte har något effektivt vaccin mot nya, extremt multiresistenta former av tbc och att ingen vill finansiera utvecklingen av ett sådant vaccin. Det skriver professorerna Anders Björkman, Gunnar Boman, Göran Tomson, Hans Wigzell samt generaldirektören vid Smittskyddsinstitutet Ragnar Norrby.

A University of Alberta research team has combined two fields of study in nanotechnology to create a third field that the researchers believe will lead to revolutionary advances in computer electronics, among many other areas. Dr. Abdulhakem Elezzabi and his colleagues have applied plasmonics principles to spintronics technology and created a novel way to control the quantum state of an electron's spin. The new technology, which the researchers call spinplasmonics, may be used to create incredibly efficient electron spin-based photonic devices, which in turn may be used to build, for example, computers with extraordinary capacities.
